Today is Latina Equal Pay Day in the United States. It’s the day of the year when Latina pay catches up to that of white men from the previous year. It’s important to bring visibility to this topic, and advocate for systemic change.

Many companies have so much room to improve their representation, especially for Black, Latinx, and Native American groups in the US. But for an organization really trying to achieve transformation, it’s critical to extend the diversity strategy beyond just hiring.

It’s Hispanic Heritage Month in the US, a time to celebrate the vibrancy and culture of the Latinx community as well as all the contributions that we have given to the world. I have mixed feelings about these “months.”
